One of the most frequent questions I hear these days is: "Joel, what’s the deal with lab-grown diamonds? Are they real?"
After 49 years in the jewelry business, I’ve seen the industry change in many ways. But the biggest shift in 2026 is how much control you, the customer, now have. At Joel’s Fine Jewelry, we don't have a case full of rings we’re trying to "push" on you. We are 100% made-to-order, which means the most important thing isn't what's in my safe—it’s what’s in your head.

To clear up the biggest myth: Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to diamonds mined from the earth. They aren't "fakes." If you put a lab-grown diamond and a natural diamond side-by-side, they have the same "fire," the same hardness, and the same sparkle.
Because we work exclusively on a custom basis, we aren't biased toward one or the other. We simply source the perfect stone—lab or natural—specifically for your design.
